The Hundred Decker Bus
The Hundred Decker Bus
Tip tap chin, let our story begin.
It was a Tuesday morning just like any other. As usual, the bus driver finished his tea. As usual, he put on his jacket. As usual, he clambered onto his double decker bus. At 6 O’clock he started his engine and drove out of the bus station. Just like every other day, he picked up the man in the huge, red tie. Just like every other day, he picked up the noisy children. Just like every other day, he picked up the lady with the pram.
The bus driver was bored. Suddenly, he saw a road. A long, winding road. ‘Excuse me’ said a man. ‘Where are you going?’ ‘Anywhere. We’re on an adventure’ replied the bus driver.
Next, he came to the sea. ‘Excuse me’ said the sailors. ‘Where are you going?’ ‘Anywhere. We’re on an adventure’ replied the bus driver. ‘Can we come too?’ ‘No, no, no, we’re all full up.’ So with a clunk and a clank they built a new deck.
Next, they came to a town. ‘Excuse me’ said the people. ‘Where are you going?’ ‘Anywhere. We’re on an adventure’ replied the bus driver. ‘Can we come too?’ ‘No, no, no, we’re all full up.’ So with a clunk and a clank they built a new deck.
Next, they came to a school. ‘Excuse me’ said the children. ‘Where are you going?’ ‘Anywhere. We’re on an adventure’ replied the bus driver. ‘Can we come too?’ ‘No, no, no, we’re all full up.’ So with a clunk and a clank they built a new deck.
Soon the bus was as tall as a house. Soon the bus was as tall as a skyscraper. Soon the bus was 100 decks tall.
Then they heard a creak. Then they heard a croak. Then there was smoke. Suddenly, there was a bang. The bonnet of the bus popped off!
‘Excuse me’ said the people. ‘Where are we going?’ ‘Nowhere’ said the bus driver. ‘We’ve broken down’.
There was a noise from above. ‘Would you like a lift?’ asked the hot air balloon man. Finally, up, up, up floated the bus onto his next adventure.
Four leaf clover, our story is over.
